Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will lead and oversee multiple complex projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring successful execution within scope, schedule, and budget. This role involves acquiring resources, coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors, and optimizing project management processes. Additionally, the Project Manager will mentor junior team members, providing guidance and expertise, while continuously improving existing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver multiple complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including charters, plans, and supporting materials, in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify resource needs using the Educated Guess Planning Method and assign tasks effectively.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, managing scope, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Apply PM Lifecycle methodologies to uphold project standards and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Facilitate productive meetings with teams and stakeholders, fostering effective communication.
  • Deliver clear, well-structured presentations tailored to IT and business audiences.
  • Provide timely updates through Project Status reports in ServiceNow and PM SharePoint.
  • Proactively address challenges, escalating issues as necessary to ensure resolution.
  • Assess staffing and consulting needs, making strategic hiring recommendations as required.
  • Establish and manage expectations with project teams, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Identify, address, and mitigate conflicts within project teams.
  • Manage dependencies and critical path milestones to maintain project momentum.
  • Cultivate strong relationships to drive project success.
  • Mentor junior project managers, offering strategic insights and guidance.
  • Support the Program Manager in refining and streamlining project management processes.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 5-10% of the time, within 48 hours of being asked to come on-site, and as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the “home office” location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $102,500  $227,700 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between $102,500 -$130,000 annually of this range.

Job Qualifications

·       Bachelor of Science degree in IT or a closely related discipline.

·       Minimum 8-15  years’ experience in Project Management

·       PMP Certification (Preferred not Required)

·       Exceptional skills at report writing and making technical presentations

·       Proven skills in managing Large and Complex projects

·       Ability to manage multiple fast-paced technical projects

·       Ability to be a team player willing to cooperate and coordinate with other technical staff

·       Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative Environment.

·       Technically competent with various software programs, such as Project, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

·       Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem solving capabilities

·       Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

·       Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

·       Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
