Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Children Surgical Program Manager (CSPM) directs and facilitates all hospital components of the Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center Verification, ensuring adherence to the American College of Surgeons requirements, Title 22, CMS, CDPH and The Joint Commission Standards.  This includes programmatic, multidisciplinary CQI and system review and development.  The CSPM assumes day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities as they relate to nursing and ancillary personnel and assists the Medical Director of the Children Surgical Program.  Responsibilities include identification and development of children’s surgical education and manage as appropriate, the operational and personnel aspects of the children’s surgery program.  Will serve as a liaison to administration and represent the children’s surgery program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal care management. Provides for internal strategic planning, evaluation of care, practice, and outcomes to achieve the optimal degree of excellence in the service.

The CSPM’s knowledge of pediatric surgery is fundamental to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the surgery program.  This position works in collaboration with OR Operations to ensure excellence in the Mattel Children’s surgical program.  The CPSM identifies and develops pediatric surgical specific standards throughout the continuum of care according to departmental and UCLA Health system standards, mission, vision, and values.

Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $202,200.00 annually

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with: 
  • Current California RN license required
  • BSN or MSN required 
  • BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required  
  • 5+ years of Pediatric RN experience required
  • Understanding of pediatric surgical procedures, post operative care, and complications is essential
  • Quality reporting and data management skills, required
  • Organizational skills to manage program effectively
