The Writer Assistant, under the supervision of the Director of the Epilepsy Program, will support in writing, editing, and proofreading manuscripts, abstracts, NIH grants, and reports. Additionally, you will aid in preparing manuscripts for publication through completion of transmittal forms. Responsibilities include researching data and conducting statistical analyses for Epilepsy research projects. Familiarity with basic medical terminology is required to compile bibliographies based on content analysis of materials.
Please note that this is a 12 month part-time limited position, and may convert to career.
Salary Range: $26.07 - $31.24/Hourly

Required:
- Ability to use library resources.
- Understanding of research design and statistical techniques
- Ability to perform statistical computations.
- Demonstrated editing and writing abilities.
- Demonstrated experience with micro computer software, including word processing, creating, administration and maintenance of database.
- Demonstrated computer experience using IBM, IBM compatibles, or Macintosh computers.
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner with a minimum level of supervision and under frequent changes in priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to respect and preserve the confidentiality of information.
- Typing skills to prepare documents with speed and accuracy.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to interact and communicate effectively and diplomatically with staff, patients, visitors and the public.
Preferred:
- Skill in establishing, organizing, and maintaining comprehensive record keeping system.
