The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Hospital Laboratory Technician II to join their Blood Bank unit. In this essential role, you will support critical patient care by ensuring the timely processing and preparation of blood products. Primary duties include:
• Receive and triage patient blood samples for testing
• Accurately order and log tests in the laboratory information system
• Prepare blood components for transfusion, following proper procedures
• Communicate test results and blood product availability to clinical teams
• Perform routine quality control checks and preventative maintenance on lab equipment
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of blood products
Salary Range: $27.71 - $36.60/hour
Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSet)
• Ability to work holidays and other shifts as needed
• Proficient computer skills, including data entry and navigating laboratory systems
• Recent experience in a blood bank setting preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (BA or BS) preferred
