Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Are you passionate about leadership, patient care, and making a difference in healthcare? Join us at UCLA Health, where we are dedicated to excellence in patient care. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead our Santa Monica Clinical Laboratory. 

As the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, you will lead a team dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our laboratory operations and upholding the highest standards of patient care. Key responsibilities include:

Supervise the daily operations of the Outpatient Draw Station, Evening Shift Inpatient Phlebotomy, and Specimen Processing to ensure efficient workflow and optimal performance.

Implement best practices and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance, patient and staff safety, and customer satisfaction.

Provide guidance and support to a team of Certified Phlebotomy Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Salary Range: $116,300.00 - $264,600.00/year.

 

Job Qualifications

Possess a current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license and bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 4 years of licensed CLS working experience, with prior experience in leading and directing a team preferred.
Prior supervisory experience, highly preferred.
Familiarity with the Pre-analytical workflow and processing, including the operation of inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy, specimen send-out, and experience with the Lab Total Automation line, strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to driving positive change and achieving organizational goals.
Must pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation.
