Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Ophthalmology Physician Assistant (PA) will provide advanced practice care in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient consult settings. Working collaboratively with ophthalmology residents, fellows, and attending physicians, the APP will evaluate patients, perform comprehensive histories, physical and ophthalmic examinations, and assist in the assessment and management of ophthalmology consults from the Emergency Department, operating rooms, and inpatient units. The APP will also provide outpatient follow-up care and support continuity of care across clinical settings. This role is designed to improve timely access to ophthalmic care, enhance consult efficiency, and expand the Department of Ophthalmology's clinical capacity.

Salary range: $83.46-$112.31/hourly

Job Qualifications

  • ACLS certification from AHA-required
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC- required 
  • California Physician Assistant license-required
  • NCCPA certification-required
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program-required
  • Prior Ophthalmology experience (2 years) - preferred
  • 1-2 years experience as PA preferred
