Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) to support the Clinical Microbiology Research & Development (R&D) program. This position plays a critical role in supporting industry sponsored research projects as well as academic research conducted by clinical post-doctoral fellows and faculty.

In this role, you will perform complex laboratory procedures, support study execution, and contribute to data analysis and scientific reporting within a regulated clinical research environment. Duties include:

Serve as a primary contact with research sponsors

Process clinical and research samples in accordance with laboratory and study protocols.

Prepare reagents and materials required for experimental procedures.

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experimental methods, results, and deviations.

Perform data entry and data analysis, including use of Microsoft Excel and other data tools.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory instruments.

Salary Range: $31.23 - $50.24/hour


Job Qualifications

At least one year of professional molecular and/or microbiology laboratory experience (e.g. PCR library prep, sequencing, conventional culture methods, gram stain preparation and interpretation, handling of human clinical specimens, handling of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and/or fungi). 

Flexibility to work alternative days or shifts based on operational and research needs.

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with sponsors, faculty, and laboratory staff.
