Under supervision of the Technology Center for Genomics & Bioinformatics (TCGB) Director, perform repetitive technical procedures in the TCGB section of the Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The SRA I incumbent will primarily work on next-generation sequencing (Miseqi100, Nextseq, NovaseqX plus, and Oxford nanopore). The incumbent must be detail-oriented and is able to handle multiple tasks under a certain timeline, as well as be able to work with minimal supervision.
The SRA I incumbent is preferred to have background and experience in the field of NGS technologies with a wide range of molecular biology skills, including DNA and RNA extraction, reverse transcription, in vitro transcription, PCR, QRT-PCR, NGS library construction and operation of sequencers.
The hands-on experience in a NGS core lab is strongly preferred.
Salary Range: $28.69 - 34.21

Skill in performing mathematical calculations to include adding, subtracting, multiplying,
and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals with and without a calculator to
derive results.
Skill in the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to be
used in making reagents and in performing calculations.
Skill in performing operations with units in the metric system (length, area, volume,
capacity, mass, and weight). Example: grams, milligrams, centimeters, liters, etc.
